This should have been an earlier post but somehow I couldn’t find time to write. Since we are at hospital and I don’t have recent occasion, I thought that this is the time for it. And this time I am sharing a beauty called Müzedechanga - Emirgan/Changa.
Changa restoranın Emirgan’daki Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi’ndeki şubesi tam bir keyif kaçamağı için ideal. Biz de iki farklı amaçla kullandık. İlkinde İstanbul’un kışında güneşli bir Pazar gününü kaçırmamak adına Emirgan Parkı’nda açık havada tez kitabı okurken üşüp ısınmak adına sığındık kendisine Gül ablayla. Muhteşem “keçi peyniri, kırı vişne, çam fıstığı, kurutulmuş domatesli roka salatası ve nar ekşili sos” ve zencefilli / naneli bitki çayı mükemmeldi.
Changa restaurant’s Emirgan located spot is in Sabancı Museum. We had 2 nice days up there. First one was the time when we wanted to catch the sun in a cold winter Sunday in Istanbul. We had got chilly and wanted warm up a little bit so we had gone there and a herbal tea with ginger and menthol. And a delicious rocket salad called “rocket salad with dried sour cherries, pine kernels, goat cheese and pomegranate molasses sauce”. It was really delicious but I had tasted much better versions of it at somewhere else before.
Second time was the time when me and my sister had a off day from work-studying and wanted to take a lunch break after I had attended her pregnant-yoga class. And when dear sister Gul joined us we ordered. She wanted to have the same rocket salad and my sister had the “savory soup of chickpeas, wheat and swisschard” and I had “spinach and lor cheese tortellini with porcini and creamy lemon sauce”. And after getting a little cold out in the terrace, we finalized our day inside by having espresso accompanied with “crispy baklava with quince puress and kaymak (clotted cream)”.
And final words can be summarized like these: the taste of the foods could have been much better. In such a place like that with its prices, they should have shot us in the heart with love. But they didn’t. Also the atmosphere inside was not that cozy and cute. Just terrace with the Bosporus view was spectacular but that was all.
And the museum is a very handicapped free place but the restaurant surprisingly not. The first step at the entrance was difficult even it is a single step. Cause the doorway is so narrow and has no side to hold on which makes it so difficult to get inside for handicaps in my opinion. Also there are 4-5 very high steps inside in order to pass through to its upper tables. And I think these don’t look good on that restaurant which is in a Sabancı location. It shouldn’t be like this..
